Funding for Individuals

North Devon Voluntary Service is not able to give advice about funding for individuals and we generally suggest that people seek assistance from Citizen’s Advice. Here, though, is some information we have collected which may be of use to people living in North Devon. If you know of other sources of funding for individuals, do please let us know.

The website www.turn2us.org.uk can help you to check benefits entitlement and to search for a grant.

The Devon Educational Trust provides assistance with education and training, care or special needs, travel or maintenance, apprenticeships or starting work for the under 25s.

The Gibbons Trusts have two funds: The Gibbons Family Trust funds care, benefit, support, education and welfare of children and young people up to the age of 25 years in Devon (and the Isle of Thanet).

The David Gibbons Foundation promotes the welfare and relief of people suffering from sickness or financial hardship and the elderly in Devon.

The Northcott Devon Foundation helps individuals facing extreme difficulties where such financial help may offer some long term benefit. Grants are only rarely more than £200. There is an application form, which you can get from the website.

The Barnstaple Bridge Trust has two types of grants for individuals - Support or Development Grants and Samaritan Grants. There is no application form but check the website for details before applying.
