Youth Focused Mental Health First Aid Training – Online Course

The course is for anyone who works with, lives with, or supports young people aged 8-18 years.

AVAILABLE TO EMPLOYEES AND VOLUNTEERS OF VOLUNTARY AND COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS WHO WORK DIRECTLY WITH YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 8-18 YEARS.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.

MHFA England training won’t teach you to be a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis .

THIS ONLINE COURSE IS SPLIT OVER 4 SESSIONS

Wednesday April 30th 1PM – 4.30PM

Wednesday May 7th 1PM – 4.30PM

Wednesday May 14th 1PM – 4.30PM

Wednesday May 28th 1PM – 4.30PM

The outcomes of the course are:

As a MHFAider®️, you will be able to:

  • Explain what mental health is
  • Describe how to look after your own mental health and wellbeing
  • Describe the signs of possible poor mental health in young people
  • Explain some of the risk factors associated with poor mental health in young people
  • Demonstrate how to apply the youth MHFA action plan (ALGEE) in a Youth Mental Health First Aid conversation
  • Describe the role of a Youth MHFAider
